We’ve got another very special patient story today. Zoe, from Kent, underwent a Tummy Tuck with us at Secret Surgery not long ago, and now she’s going to tell us – and you, our potential patients – all about her experience here.
How did you come across us? “Whilst researching surgeons I found your details on a search engine, without even looking at the Secret Surgery website – and so not knowing it was abroad – I simply called the number provided by the search engine. Over the phone she explained the whole procedure from start to finish in such an open and honest way – I’d spent the best part of the day speaking to receptionists, advisers, answerphones…. and I was still none the wiser.”
So, the phone conversation you had with Angela made you even more set on Secret Surgery? “If she hadn’t used the words ‘Poland’ and ‘Abroad’ I would have probably turned up at her house that night, cash in hand, demanding next-day surgery!”
Ha! So you did further research instead? “I then read reviews and did my research on the surgeon, the hospital and Angela, and there wasn’t a single bad review for any of them… so it was an easy decision to book! Meeting everyone at Persona Clinic and seeing how amazing Angela looked… I could already tell by then that I had made a great decision.”
“I really can’t thank Angela enough. It will make such a huge difference to my future… but you already know about the difference! You truly understand just how much it means. That’s the real beauty of Secret Surgery. Angela – thank you for being with me through this life-changing process. Genuinely helpful, encouraging, supportive and caring – what started as a worrying trip into the unknown soon became an enjoyable and rewarding experience!”
“Many thanks to you and the rest of your team in the UK and Poland – you’re all wonderful!”
That is, another kind of work to the all-singing, all-dancing work she does on a regular basis. Rumours this week have been suggesting that Lady Gaga has undergone a lip augmentation procedure, in addition to the nose job that has been speculated for some time.
Speculators say that the singer’s lips looked swollen in a recent photo that had been Tweeted by Gaga herself. We don’t know for sure whether she has undergone any surgery at all, particularly considering that she has previously been outspoken about not having plastic surgery – but if she has taken the plunge, we at Secret Surgery think good on her.
It’s certainly not uncommon for stars to opt for lip-plumping treatments to give them plumper, fuller lips, and this kind of effect can be created with various different fillers and implants. Lip augmentations can be very minor surgical procedures, and given that they require very little recovery time, it’s no surprise that they’re so popular with working women like Gaga.
Angels Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., has said that “Whether or not Lady Gaga has had cosmetic surgery, we think she looks great. If she hasn’t, then it’s good for her that she just naturally has those good looks. If she has – well done! Being brave enough to choose cosmetic surgery is something that should be applauded in everybody.”
Far too many of us know what it’s like: you spend months or years shifting the pounds, living on a diet that consists mostly of health shakes and cabbages, only to find that at the end of it all, your beach body still looks more like a beached whale body than the 22-year-old supermodel look you had in mind.
Of course, it’s not just you; after we lose a lot of weight, there’s usually lots of excess skin left behind. With no fat left for skin to wrap itself around, it just ends up sagging about like a carrier bag. While it’s scientifically natural, it’s not the best look; it’s no surprise that my shorts haven’t come out of the wardrobe since Summer 1999.
Unfortunately, one of the areas that ends up building up lots of this flab is the thigh area; anyone who’s ever been even a few pounds overweight knows how easy it is to find ‘thunder thighs’ setting up camp on your usually skinny legs. Once you’ve got thunder thighs, there’s no way to get away from them, even with weight loss.
Thigh lifts are a great way to get your body looking as good as it should do after months of hard work; there’s no sense in dieting if you don’t look smokin’ hot at the end of it all. Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., says that ‘A quick thigh lift is the answer to unsightly excess skin that stops lots of lovely ladies from being able to confidently don their sexiest swimwear every summer.’
If you’re considering a thigh lift, don’t hold yourself back; there’s nothing worse than feeling self-conscious about something that’s completely out of your control. With thigh lifts, you can get the control back – and get back into those mini-skirts, too.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, it can be hard to think of something original to give your loved one; flowers are boring, jewellery obvious and chocolates are, well, fattening. Even going out for a fancy meal is a little redundant – you can do that any day of the week. What about considering something a little more permanent and quirky? Say, for instance, cosmetic surgery. Many women – and men – aspire to have cosmetic procedures, yet never get past the stage of dreaming of it. By treating your partner to cosmetic surgery, you would be providing a lasting gift and making their dreams come true.
A tip though guys: before you go out and buy your partner a set of new boobs, you should probably see if she has any interest in cosmetic surgery. Opening up a voucher for breast implants, liposuction or botox on Valentine’s Day isn’t going to win you any favours or do anything for her confidence if it’s not something she’s already hankering for. In fact, it could end up with you receiving a slap in return. Nobody wants to spend the most romantic day of the year grovelling now, do they? (more…)
