I am feeling fantastic stiches are all out and I have had complete rest since Monday. I feel like a new woman. I looked in the mirror last night and for the first time I smiled.
I thank you Patricia Doc W Aga Jack what a team you are thank you for giving me Me back eternally grateful XXXXX
Lately, we’ve been producing a series of blogs on looking after yourself after some of our most popular procedures. Giving your body the time and space to recover properly after serious surgery is just as important as making sure your surgery is being performed by a top surgeon.
You’ll probably need an overnight stay in the hospital after eyelid surgery, and then perhaps a little longer based on your condition. You can also expect redness and swelling around the area of your eyelids – you don’t get this kind of surgery without a few after-effects! Here’s how to look after your eyelids after surgery:
- For the first couple of days, treat the incisions with ointment
- Place cold compresses over your eyes to reduce swelling
- Use eye drops to stop your eyes from drying out
- Avoid activities which may dry your eyes out; this includes reading, watching TV, and using a computer. Don’t wear contact lenses!
- Keep your head elevated as much as possible
Generally speaking, ‘normal life’ may resume around ten days after your surgery. For some people it might be a little earlier, and for some a little later. However, for a goof few weeks to a month after your surgery, you should avoid heavy exercise and wear sunglasses when possible to protect your eyes from the sun.
Eyelid correction is a serious surgery and it can take a while to recover – but don’t worry if it feels like it’s taking a long time. You will heal, and you’ll look fabulous when you do!
Eyelid correction surgery can sometimes be necessary when our eyelids make us look older and more tired. It’s a simple procedure in which the surgeon removes excess skin and fatty tissue, and the results are visible within just a short time after treatment.
Let’s see what Claire has to say about her eyelid correction surgery. “My healing is going well – the scar on my left eye is virtually unnoticeable now and I’m really pleased with that. The scar on my right is still very red, and the line is thicker and more visible, but it is slowly receding somewhat.”
Are you glad you came to Secret Surgery for your eyelid correction? “I’m pleased I had it done, so I don’t have any regrets – it does look better!”
Great news, Claire – we hope you have a speedy recovery, too. Don’t forget to get in touch with us if you’ve got some Secret Surgery stories that you’d like to share with the world.
Sometimes, make-up just doesn’t hit the right spot. It doesn’t matter how much money I spend on foundation, lipstick, or mascara, or how much time I invest in moisturising; wrinkles, excess skin and asymmetrical features just don’t wear out.
It’s not the end of the world, though; if you’re really determined to look your best this summer, there are further options beyond the top shelf of the make-up aisle in Boots; scrap the bog-standard makeover rules – now we’re playing by extreme makeover rules.
With an extreme makeover, the sky’s the limit. Not happy with your nose? Get it sorted. Want plumper lips? Just a quick shot, and it’s done. Fed up of crow’s feet? You get the picture – with cosmetic surgery, you can erase all those pesky blemishes that won’t go away with anything else.
Extreme makeovers are an excellent option for women who are sick of having low self-esteem because of their facial appearance – in the 21st century, we can look however we want to look!
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., says that “More and more women are coming in to have work done on their faces; it’s not about simply looking better, but about looking the way you feel comfortable looking. I’m pleased to know I’m helping a lot of women to feel happier in their own skin.”
Droopy, baggy eyes are a burden to us all; I can’t imagine any woman who’s never caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror looking a little too much like a pitbull terrier; and it’s not just us! I know for a fact that men suffer from droopy eyes too – along with droopy other things…
Unfortunately, gravity makes it mark on everything, and eyelids are no exception. Too many of us end up wearing shades on cloudy days or looking a little like we’ve spent the night with a shot of rum in one hand and an all-night club entry stamp on the other.
That’s why eyelid correction surgery is all the rage; more and more women (and men!) are discovering that baggy eyes can be a thing of the past – who needs to wake up in the morning feeling like they’d be more attractive with a paper bag over their head? Eyelid correction surgery is simple, quick, and effective, and it’s the easiest way to shave 10 years off your age without breaking the bank or committing identity fraud.
If you reckon eyelid correction surgery is for you – feel free to get in touch! There are plenty of ladies here who feel your pain when it comes to baggy eyes and droopy lids. Do you sometimes look at yourself in the mirror and wonder what happened to those bright, almond-shaped eyes you remember from younger days? Drooping eyelids are something that affect us all as the years pile on – they’re nothing to be ashamed of, and yet there’s a good reason to do something about them.
Procedures for eyelid correction are easy as your monthly pedicure, and can deal with both the upper eyelids and lower eyelids (which you might think of as ‘bags’ under your eyes). Both procedures require small incisions and the removal of excess tissue from around the eyes, and the area should be completely recovered after just a few months.
Of course, we’re not the only ones who can do something about your droopy eyes – keeping away from cigarettes, alcohol and too much exposure to the sun in the mean time will help you to slow down the acceleration of your baggy eyes and regain some of the glimmer of youth.
Sometimes it’s difficult to pinpoint the areas of your face that show the most age; if you’re not sure whether eyelid correction is for you, try covering the rest of your face and estimating your own age based on the eyes alone – you might find the number’s a little bigger than you think (or would like to think).
