Marie is another one of our gorgeous Patient Care Managers, which means that she’s in charge of our patients once they fly back to the UK! As part of our ‘Under the Skin’ series, we’ve been asking all of our top staff to let us into their world for a little while…
What’s the biggest challenge in your job? “It might surprise you to hear me say this, but… probably myself! When dealing with the public, you are constantly learning about yourself!”
What’s the best part of your job? “I haven’t got a favourite – I joined Secret Surgery after being a patient myself, and I feel passionately about the support and good work that the company does. I enjoy every aspect of it!”
If you hadn’t become a Patient Care Manager, what do you think you would have been? “I’ve no idea! Whatever it would have been, it probably would still have been people-related, though. I love that aspect of my job.”
If you were going to treat yourself to some surgery, what would you get done? “I think I’d like a breast lift, if you’re offering!”
What do you do to relax after a long day? “I would usually exercise or read a book… often both!”
We’ve got another exclusive patient story today, this time coming from gorgeous Helen! A lovely lady, Helen is here to tell us about her experience with Secret Surgery, having returned home to the UK post-surgery in December.
What did you get done? “I had a breast lift and also my nose was reshaped.”
And what do you think of the results? “I have to say, I couldn’t be happier with the results – the mirror is now my best friend!”
Did you feel good about the hospital when you arrived? “I knew I was in safe hands with Dr. Waclowowicz, who made sure he understood exactly what results I wanted to achieve, and actually surpassed my expectations with my nose.”
And was the level of support you received good? “The help and advice I received from Secret Surgery before and after my procedures has been second to none, making the whole experience, from my initial booking to arriving back in Liverpool, so easy and stress-free!”
Our very special video blog today is from a little girl who wants to tell us all about her mummy’s yummy mummy makeover! Here’s her opinion on just how yummy her makeover was:
“I wanna say a great big thank you – to YOU, to YOU – yes, you, Secret Surgery. You made my mummy even yummier! Even yummier than ice cream with chocolate sauce or chocolate pancakes!”
That’s pretty yummy then! A mummy makeover is designed to improve all those bits that get a bit worn during pregnancy – the tummy and the breasts, mostly. A nip here and a tuck there can make you look even better than you did before your pregnancy! It’s all the rage with celebrity mums, and it’s becoming more and more popular in the UK all the time.
Finally, our video blog guest of the day confirms where to head to if you want to look as yummy as her mummy: “Secret Surgery dot co dot UK.”
A fascinating story appeared on the Shanghai Daily news site the other day, warning about the dangers of buying your own silicone implants. Reportedly, a female university student in Shanghai purchased a 35 yuan – or $5.50, for those of us who understand American money a little better than Chinese money – silica gel implant, which she then took to the hospital, asking the surgeons there to reshape her nose with it.
It’s all well and good to laugh – after all, who knows what you’re buying online when you purchase a nameless, unbranded ‘implant’ – but if the doctors had not refused, this woman could have suffered some serious consequences!
You can’t just go sticking anything inside your nose, bum, boobs or cheeks and hoping it’ll plump you up without causing any damage. At Secret Surgery, all of our silicone implants are made to order, after being measured for the patient. Not only does this mean that our implants are clean, safe and reliable, but they’re also tailored to fit you. We often find patients who are asking for breast implants have asymmetrical breasts and need two different sizes of implant, anyway.
In other words, just in case you ever get tempted: don’t buy implants online! No doctor in their right minds will operate with those, because they’re dangerous, risky, and – frankly – unsafe. The Shanghai university student should count her lucky stars that her surgeon did refuse to use the implant she had bought, or she might have ended up with a painful and expensive post-op infection!
Today we’re catching up with Mary, from Ireland, who had a breast lift with Secret Surgery earlier this year. We’ve got details about her experiences with us, and if you’ve ever considered a breast lift for yourself, Mary’s words have a lot to offer.
“Three years ago, I saw a picture of myself at a wedding, at a size 26. I felt disgusted at how far I’d let myself go, and I joined Weight Watchers the week after. Two and a half years later, I’d lost six stone and eight pounds!”
“Unfortunately after I lost weight, I was left with lots of saggy bits, which I desperately wanted rid of! So I started researching cosmetic surgeries, starting in Ireland, but I couldn’t afford those. It was then that I found Secret Surgery.”
“When I contacted Angela, I was so impressed by her quick response and professionalism. She was so considerate, even when I had to change my dates twice, and she even called me the day before I was due to go, and we chatted for an hour!”
“When I got there, the hospital was immaculate, and the staff were so friendly and professional. I met Dr. W., who reassured me, and my breast lift was practically painless. It was all so easy! And Angela stayed in contact with me throughout the whole process.”
“I’d have to say it was the best decision of my life. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I’m recommending Secret Surgery to all of my friends – and others! I’ll never forget my wonderful experience and all the friends I’ve made for life.”
We’ve got more details coming from Mary in the next couple of weeks. If you’ve got a Secret Surgery story to share with us, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
We all – occasionally – feel that our love lives could do with a bit of a kick, I’m sure, but I can’t be the only one who has heard someone say “I just don’t quite enjoy it the way I once used to”. If pleasing your partner starts feeling like a challenge, rather than a pleasure, it’s maybe time to start thinking about why this is.
A recent study has claimed that women with breast implants get more pleasure in bed than they did before they had their enhancements, according to the Daily Mail. The paper also reported that US chat show host Bethenny Frankel agrees, having spoken recently about her own experiences with breast enhancements.
“After having gone from an 32A cup to a 32FF, all of a sudden, the part of my body that had always been an embarrassment to me, became something that I was proud of and could feel confident while being with a partner.” said Ms. Frankel. “It is not just about the ability to impress a man. It’s about feeling self-confident within, which enables you to enjoy a sexual experience more freely and uninhibited.”
According to a survey by RealSelf.com, 61% of women found they were having more sex after their enlargements, and 70% of women admitted their satisfaction from sex had increased. The truth is, cosmetic surgery isn’t just about feeling more confident; it’s about being able to relax, enjoy yourself, and loosen up.
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., says that “Cosmetic surgery is all about making you feel more at ease in your own skin. Whether that helps you to perform well at work, in bed, or at home – or all three – is up to how you feel about yourself. It’s not about being bigger; it’s about being you.”
We’ve got another Secret Surgery success story today, this time coming from Mary, in Ireland. It’s always gratifying to hear that all the efforts we put in at Secret Surgery don’t go to waste, and Mary’s story is yet another example of our great results.
Let’s see what Mary has to say. “I just wanted to share my journey with you. It started three years ago, when I saw a picture of myself at a wedding, and I was wearing a size 26 dress. I was digusted that I had let myself go that much, so I joined Weight Watchers the week after.”
Great! How did that go? “Well, two and a half years later I’d lost six stone and eight pounds. I felt great, but I desperately wanted to get rid of all the saggy bits that my weight loss had left behind! So I started researching cosmetic surgeries, starting with some consultations in Ireland.”
And how did you go from there, to finding Secret Surgery? “I couldn’t afford the prices at the Irish surgeries, and it was then that I found Secret Surgery. I contacted Angela and was so impressed by her quick response, professionalism and her kindness. I had so many questions and I also had to change my dates twice! But she was considerate throughout, and for her there was no such thing as a silly question. She even called me the day before I was due to go, and we chatted for nearly an hour!”
We do pride ourselves on approachability at Secret Surgery! What happened next? I left with my sister-in-law, Valerie, for Wroclaw on April 28th, and I was so impressed when we got to the hospital. It was immaculate, and the staff we do amazing, friendly and professional. Aga was wonderful, so kind and funny – I felt we’d been friends all our lives!”
But surely the most important thing is how the surgery went? “I met Dr. W, which reassured me more, and OMG! My first operation was a tummy tuck, and I had NO pain after it at all. Just a little discomfort, and the ICU nurse was fantastic, caring and patient. My second procedures – breast lift and vaser lipo on thighs – was just the same. Painless, comforting and easy! Angela also kept in contact with me throughout everything!”
That’s great news, Mary. Are you glad you did it? “I’d have to say it was the best decision of my life! I’d do it again in a heartbeat; Angela was great, and my experience was made so much better by being there with Valerie, and meeting Sacha, another patient there at the time. We explored the hospital together, and had a great time.”
“I also couldn’t have done it without the hospital’s lovely taxi driver – Jack! I’m recommending Secret Surgery to all of my friends – and others! I’ll never forget my wonderful experience and all the friends I’ve made for life.”
It’s so wonderful to hear people having such good experiences at Secret Surgery; we go to extra special efforts to make sure your time here is comfortable, enjoyable and fun!
Or, if you’ve ever been a patient of ours and have a story to share, why not get in touch with us and tell us your experiences at Secret Surgery? We love to hear them!
Generally speaking, I like gravity; it keeps me on the ground, and makes life a lot easier than I imagine it would be without it. But I do have one little niggle: why, oh why, does gravity have to do such awful things to my body?
I’ve got friends who can actually leave the house without a bra on, and yet as soon as my hands go anywhere near my bra straps, I can see my breasts already gearing themselves up for the drop to my waist.
Unfortunately, it’s not just gravity that has it in for us girls. Breasts can start to sag a bit with age, but the kicker is weight loss – whether you’ve had a child or just lost a lot of weight, you’ll notice that all the extra skin your breasts had when they were bigger hasn’t really disappeared, which leaves your breasts looking a little lacklustre, to say the least.
While just wearing really good bras might work during the day, the only way to get your breasts looking pert and perky again is with a nip and a tuck – luckily, breasts lifts are quick, easy and almost painless.
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., says “Breast lifts are hugely popular with women nowadays, and the procedure is basically routine. We’re seeing a trend that women aren’t just wanting to perfect the size of their breasts, but the shape, too.”
Big, little and ‘wonky’. Breasts come in all shapes and sizes and their diversity is to be celebrated.
So why all the fuss about getting a boob job? One simple reason: it’s all about your happiness. We don’t just deal with women who would like to go up a cup-size; we serve a vast range of clients who elect for a boob job for numerous reasons.
It’s amazing how many people hear the word ‘boob job’ and think of vacuous silicon-enhanced celebs. Cosmetic surgery is not about enhancing women to the point of absurdism. Here are just three reasons why you may opt for breast surgery, and no, pursuing a career as a glamour model isn’t one of them.
Number one: weight loss. With obesity levels rising in the UK, it’s an amazing feat to shed those stones and pounds. After all that hard work, you’ll feel fantastic on the inside, but what of your body’s adaptation to the weight loss? Well, many women find that putting on the pounds increases their breast size. The downside to this is that the excess skin remains once their breasts have diminished in size.
Number two: breast feeding. Bundles of joy and boob-wreckers: yes, feeding your children au natural will have noticeable and unfortunate downsides. It’s beautiful and wonderful, but once they’ve started to develop their first teeth, your breasts may feel the pinch.
Third? Ageing. We’ve all heard the jokes about everything travelling South, but in this day and age you don’t have to be a hostage to the force of gravity. With many of us maintaining an active sex life even into old age, breast surgery can boost your self-esteem and enhance his sex drive.
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd says “Whether it’s a breast uplift, or mastopexy, all of these changes can be rectified with ease. Skin excess can be cut off, the gland lifted, and the nipple repositioned, giving you the firm and perky breasts that you once knew so well. You can opt for implant insertion during the same procedure if you choose, but the size of your breasts is completely up to you. It’s not about achieving an DD cup size: it’s quality over quantity, and your happiness over anyone else’s”.

I highly recommend Secret Surgery, Angela has been absolutely fantastic and made the whole journey/experience an easy one to take, very informative and very soothing in those times of need. The surgeon in Poland and his assistant were second to none. I would definitely recommend secret surgery and may even consider more surgery in the future.
