So how crazy would it be if Jesse Metcalfe, the actor who portrayed John, had opted for a male breast reduction? We can’t tell you either way whether he has or hasn’t, but recent pics of the actor playing tennis certainly make it look like his super hot pecs are a little smaller than they used to be.
If he has opted for a breast reduction, he won’t be the only hunky male star to have done so. Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock, also chose to have a breast reduction a few years ago when he felt that his ultra buffed up pecs were getting a bit too big for him.
Of course, most men who opt for male breast reduction do so not because of the size of their pecs, but the size of their manboobs. Gynecomastia – or man boob syndrome – is relatively simple to treat, and it can make a huge difference to a man’s self esteem.
We try to keep you all up to date with the latest news and gossip about celebrities and their cosmetic surgeries, but sometimes the woman-centric gossip columns can be misleading; actually, a lot of men have cosmetic surgery, too – and celebrity circles aren’t an exception to this rule.
Plenty of our favourite male celebs have gone under the knife in the past few years. We all know that Michael Jackson had his fair share of surgeries, including a couple of nose jobs and some chin work, and everyone’s top pop hunk Enrique Iglesias had a mole removed at the height of his stardom.
Mickey Rourke is probably one of Tinseltown’s most famously worked-on celebs, and we won’t even try to count the number of surgeries he’s had.
So there: there really are plenty of top hunks to choose from when it comes to success stories from Hollywood’s hottest men going under the knife. It just goes to show that all of us care about how we look – men AND women.
We all remember that earlier in the year Angelina Jolie made the brave decision to undergo a mastectomy to reduce her chances of developing breast cancer – and bravo to her. Well, it looks like she’s had her implants done, and she’s looking absolutely gorgeous with them!
We’ve spotted some of the first pics to come out since Angie has started dressing more like she used to – with a fabulous, loose-hanging top – perfect for this hot weather. She looks absolutely fantastic, and obviously isn’t remotely regretting her decision to go under the knife.
We’re pleased to see that the 37-year-old star has lost none of her confidence since the operations. We’re with everyone who thinks that Angie is a modern-day hero for doing something which a lot of women would be too afraid to do. She’s also highlighted what’s really important when it comes to surgery and your body – health. Being healthy and happy is better than looking like a supermodel – don’t forget it!

We first met Matthew Perry when he played Chandler Bing, the lovable joker in Friends. That was two decades ago, and Matthew has suffered from middle-aged spread just like the rest of us have. He appeared on a US chat show, Ellen, in the past week, after which apparently some of his own friends teased him about his weight!
Speculators reckon Matt might be thinking of going under the knife to get rid of a few of the extra pounds he’s put on, and we wouldn’t blame him if he did. He’s still an attractive man, but his career hasn’t exactly taken off since the end of Friends. Perhaps shedding some of the excess weight will help him to land those roles?
Of course, we hope Matt doesn’t make this decision just because of what his friends say! He should be opting for surgery because it’s what he wants for himself. We’d recommend some liposuction and possible a tummy tuck depending on how much excess skin is left after his weight loss. Of course, a good diet and exercise won’t go amiss either.
It sounds like a medieval torture practice, but actually it’s a new kind of plastic surgery which is hitting the clinics in LA and Hollywood. It all started a few years ago when George Clooney told an interviewer that “I did get my balls done. I got them unwrinkled – it’s the new thing in Hollywood – ball ironing.”
He was probably just kidding, but Hollywood doctors have taken his ‘suggestion’ and brought it to life; there’s now a procedure being offered which tightens up excessively loose scrotum tissue, and it’s being considered by lots of men – in fact, Jonah Hill has said “I’d consider anything” about possibly undergoing the procedure.
What do we think of ball ironing? Ladies – is it something you’d like to get your partners doing, or do you prefer them natural? It’s bound to be a procedure that divides opinions, but we’re anticipating that some clinics this side of the pond will no doubt pick the practice up if it proves popular enough in the US.
If you’ve been keeping up with the gossip columns recently – who am I kidding? Of course you have – then you’ll know that Kim Kardashian is expecting – and the effects of her baby weight have already been published for the world to see.
Not long ago, she Tweeted pics of herself with new luscious lips which she said are her ‘pregnancy lips’, alluding to the fact that most women put on a little weight when they’re carrying a baby. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of pregnant women gaining weight on their lips!
Speculators wonder whether she’s actually indulged in a little lip work; they certainly look much more plump than before, and this kind of effect can easily be achieved with the help of fillers.
While Kim looks utterly gorgeous with her new lips, we hope that she had the surgery before getting pregnant; most surgeons wouldn’t operate on pregnant women, even if the procedure is as routine as simply inserting fillers. If you’re thinking about treating yourself to some fillers, have them before or after pregnancy – not during!
If you haven’t heard about Angelina Jolie’s mastectomy yet, you must be the only one. The gorgeous starlet opted to undergo a double mastectomy when she found out that she was in danger of developing breast cancer – just like her mother.
Despite facing some criticism and tasteless commentary from some people, we think Angelina’s decision was incredibly brave. She made the choice to sacrifice something so personal in order to protect her own life and stick around long enough to ensure she sees all of her children through to adulthood. How can the decision be anything but laudible?
Of course, we should also be giving a big pat on the shoulder to Brad Pitt, who sounds like he has been utterly supportive throughout Angie’s ordeal.
We don’t yet know what Angelina’s doing for breast implants – but we’re sure she’ll look gorgeous anyway. Angelina Jolie has proved herself to be a true star – just as fabulous on the inside as she is on the outside!
Rebecca Mader, well-known for her role as Charlotte Lewis in LOST, has recently gone public with her feelings about plastic surgery. Despite being one of the most gorgeous actresses on TV – and British, to boot – Rebecca has said that she is insecure about her looks and has previously considered plastic surgery.
The 36-year-old former model said “There’s pressure all around from the media for beauty for every woman in the Western world. Whether it’s cosmetic surgery or losing weight, I think there’s a lot of pressure for women to be perfect in our society. It’s gotten better for me because I used to be a model, so it was worse in the fashion business than it is as an actress. I’m happier. I can be a little bit bigger and get away with it.”
We don’t think that Rebecca has had any work done yet, though it sounds like it’s only a matter of time before she decides to. And, of course, if she does – we won’t blame her at all. If I had natural looks like that, I wouldn’t want to see them fade away when I hit 50 either!
Yes, you heard it right – a dog! Obie, a super cute and super brave little dachshund, has recently undergone a tummy tuck.
Don’t worry, we love animal rights as much as the next person – this tummy tuck wasn’t exactly cosmetic. Obie lost an impressive 37lbs and was left with excess skin, which was making him uncomfortable. As you might know, dachshunds have low tummies, and skin rubbing against the ground can cause discomfort.
“He’s always had the personality where you can really tell he wants to interact,” Nora told Fox News in the US. “He wants to get around. So now that he can it’s pretty exciting. He’s just getting to be a dog.”
Last we heard, Obie was recovering from his operation in Portland, Oregon. Fingers crossed that Obie’s recovery goes off without a hitch!
We’ve all heard the stories about those celebrities who just don’t seem to know when to stop – a boob job here, a tummy tuck there – and somehow end up looking like a completely different person ten surgeries later. But whose fault is it really, the patient’s, or the surgeon’s?
This all comes about as Alicia Douvall blames her doctors, at least partially, for her past surgeries. The British model is a well-known plastic surgery addict, previously having had 330 plastic surgery procedures. This includes 16 breast augmentations! Alright, so most people don’t get anywhere near this figure – most of us couldn’t afford it! – but when you do, whose fault is it really?
Douvall has said that while she did have a plastic surgery addiction, the blame falls somewhat on the doctors who approved her for surgeries again and again and again. What do you think? Is it up to the professional, or the patient? While it’s true that patients shouldn’t place all the blame on a doctor, it is the doctor’s place to know when surgery is going to help someone – and when it isn’t.
Doctors might get this wrong sometimes, but after 330 surgeries, we might think that any doctor in their right mind would have known that this patient was never going to be happy with the away she looked! What do you think?
This week, Gwyneth Paltrow was featured in Harper’s Bazaar magazine spouting her secrets on looking so young. The 40-year-old actress has supposedly tried just about anything to keep her youthful looks in tact, and Botox isn’t excluded from the list. When asked whether she’d have Botox again, though, she said “I looked crazy”.
That doesn’t mean that she’s ruling out all plastic surgeries, though. “I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything.” Gwyneth seems to have hit the nail on the head, here; a lot of our patients are scared about going under the knife! It’s probably why Botox is a popular treatment – it offers a quick-fix solution without the grisly thought of scalpels and surgery.
However, we hope Gwyneth knows that plastic surgery – when done by the right people – is no more risky than Botox. Maybe when she’s 50 we’ll put a good word in her ear and she’ll decide to come to us at Secret Surgery. Not that she needs it – Ms. Paltrow is absolutely gorgeous, and we’re sure that at 50 she’ll look better than I did at 30!
We’re as guilty as the rest of the British media for occasionally speculating that some celeb or other has indulged in a little surgery – but, hey, we’re hardly going to be critical about it, are we? However, it’s interesting to wonder whether celebs really are a good advertisement for cosmetic surgery.
When celebrities have plastic surgery and it goes well, there isn’t a lot to say. We praise their good looks and move on with our lives – and a lot of the time, it’s difficult to tell whether they’ve even had surgery, because the change is so seamless and natural. This is definitely the case with younger celebs; who knows if Vanessa Hudgens’s nose is real or not? What’s more – who cares? It looks great!
Of course, good celebrity surgery isn’t the kind which is often discussed in the media. A lot of newspapers and magazines like to draw our attention to the surgery that’s gone wrong, rather than the surgery that’s gone right. This means that the occasional botched boob jobs and overly-luscious lips get a lot of press, while all those thousands of procedures which go off without a hitch don’t!
Cosmetic surgery mistakes can happen to anyone, it’s true. However, in some cases – and, I suspect, moreso with celebrities – it’s the fault of the surgeon and the clinic. If your client comes to you with a request which you know is going to look ridiculous – or keeps requesting breast enlargement after breast enlargement – then it’s your job, as the consultant, to step in. We don’t offer surgery to those who clearly won’t be helped by it – and a lot of these ‘celebrity botch jobs’ are the result of people working in the cosmetic surgery who just can’t say ‘no’.
We hope that some of you remember, next time one of these stories appears in the paper, that this isn’t a common occurrence in this industry. In the meantime, we’ll try and remind everyone that plenty of totally gorgeous celebs opt for cosmetic surgery all the time – and come out of it looking even better. So, cheers to them!
Everyone knows Nicki Minaj – she’s one of the most famous faces on TV and one of the most famous voices on the radio today. She’s known for her vibrant appearance, often wearing wigs and outlandish – but always utterly gorgeous – fashions. However, Nicki may be a trendsetter in more ways than one – some surgeons believe that she’s indulged in a little nose surgery and/or breast implants to help those natural good looks along.
Nicki denies having had surgery on her face, but doesn’t say anything about the rest of her body. She says that instead of surgery, she uses special make-up and application techniques.
”I’ve never had surgery on my face. They’ll see contour and they’ll think you had surgery on your nose. No, no, no, look at RuPaul’s Drag Race and you’ll see how you can make your nose look any shape you want. When people see my makeup, they think all types of crazy things that I’m doing to my skin, but it’s makeup.”
Share the secret, Nicki! Whatever she’s doing, it seems to be working.
Even the most confident of us ladies can think of a handful of celebs we would gladly swap body parts with – whether it’s J Lo’s bum, Cameron Diaz’s smile or Cheryl Cole’s nose. What we want to know is, whose gorgeous features would be on YOUR cosmetic surgery wishlist?
One thing we can guess: a lot of you probably fancy having a derriere like Pippa Middleton! This comes as a shock to just about no-one as the Metro reports this week that more and more Brits are going under the knife to get a shapely behind just like Pippa’s. Meanwhile, over in the states, Kate’s nose is taking everyone by storm!
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder at Secret Surgery, says ‘It’s not uncommon for us to have requests like this – ‘I want his abs or her nose’ – and our surgeons are very good at working to a specification like that. In fact, it’s good that our patients know exactly what they want – it makes our job easier, and we know our patients know what they’re going to get!’
So, whose body would YOU want? I know I’d swap bodies with Michelle Pfeiffer if given half the chance…
The 51-year-old 80s icon tweeted a photograph of his new slim figure last week, which shows him looking rather good! We don’t doubt that he’s achieved something great through diet and exercise, but the photos show no loose skin – which indicates that he might have indulged in some lifts or tucks to get rid of any excess skin that might have been left behind.
In any case, Boy George is looking better than ever – better than he even did in the 80s, we think! It goes to show just how much difference you can make to your appearance through good habits, even if he did go under the knife to perfect the finishing touches!
Ozzy Osbourne has previously told the press that he has indulged in a nose job and a facelift, which probably explains why he really doesn’t look his age at 64. He might not be the cosmetic surgery industry’s first choice when it comes to adverts for surgery, but you’ve got to give it to him – after a long life of partying, he’s looking better than most of us will at 64.
Most recently, there’s been speculation about whether Ozzy has been following in his wife, Sharon’s, footsteps, and saying goodbye to plastic surgery. Sharon has told the public that she won’t be undergoing any surgery after the double mastectomy she had to combat breast cancer.
Ozzy, too, has told Glamour magazine that ‘My philosophy is that if, when you look in the mirror, all you can see is the double chin or the big nose, and it makes your life easier to have them cut off, do it. But like tattoos, once you have one, you have two, you have three…’
All in all, we agree; but then, maybe Ozzy’s been going to the wrong surgeries! It’s true that some people can get a little addicted to cosmetic surgery, but good clinics won’t grant you those extra operations that you don’t really need. All of our patients are those people who fall into the first category – those who are a little unhappy with what they’ve got, and think they deserve better. And why not? Ozzy’s right – do what makes your life easier.
It’s awards season at the moment, and the Grammy awards are like the Oscars for musicians – which means it’s a top priority for beautiful stars like Beyonce to be looking their best on the red carpet.
Speculators have been wondering whether the singer indulged in a nose job before the awards ceremony. Beyonce’s always been a good looker, but her nose has been looking ultra fine and sculpted in these past few weeks – the biggest question in most people’s minds seems to be not if she has had a rhinoplasty, but when.
Some doctors have even suggested that, over the years, Beyonce has had not one nose job, but three! Whether she has or not, we definitely think she’s one of the most elegant and beautiful musicians working in the business today – and we still look up to her as an inspiration to every ‘independent woman’ in the world!
Kate Middleton is the nation’s Queen – in spirit if not in reality. Don’t get me wrong – we all love Liz – but Kate has really inspired hope and admiration in women across the UK. She’s intelligent, elegant and beautiful, and she married a Prince! If she can do it, we all can – right, ladies?
More recently, her totally gorgeous good looks have inspired questions about whether Kate has indulged in a little plastic surgery to help things along. Some spectators think she might have perfected her cute button nose with a little rhinoplasty, while others suspect a bum lift is what’s keeping her derriere in top condition.
Whether she’s had these procedures or not is anyone’s guess – and if she had, we’ll likely never know for certain – but, surgery or not, the one thing we can say is that Kate is a true beauty. If there’s one thing that makes me proud to be British, it’s Kate’s beautiful bum! (Though we can’t mention Middleton bums without bringing up Pippa, can we…?)
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seem to have been engaged for absolutely ages already – and most people are thinking that the couple will be planning their wedding for this summer. That leaves Angie with plenty of time to enjoy a plastic surgery makeover before her big day; the 37-year-old star has been rumoured to have enjoyed a little nip and a tuck many times before; it’s difficult to imagine her honey-smooth skin being kept in such good condition any other way!
The National Enquirer has suggested that Jolie might be about to undergo a ‘head to toe overhaul’ costing around $45,000 – whew! We could probably do it a lot cheaper for her over here! We don’t think Angelina needs cosmetic surgery, but no-one can begrudge the beautiful bride-to-be for wanting to look her best on the biggest day of her life – so we hope it goes smashingly.
We’ll all have to keep our eyes peeled for pics of Angie looking hotter than ever this summer – hopefully, her stunning new looks might have a good effect on the weather!
Vanessa Hudgens has been a star since a very tender age, which naturally means that the world has watched her grow up and mature. However, many celeb-spotters think that Hudgens’ nose has ‘matured’ a little more than the rest of her – could this be down to cosmetic surgery?
Speculators say that the young star’s nose has become smaller over the years, which isn’t something that usually happens as we age. Of course, she’s been gorgeous ever since she came onto our screens – but she has certainly grown into a real beauty! Whether she’s done this with a little plastic surgery or not, we don’t really care – whoever’s work it is, Vanessa Hudgens has certainly been lucky with her gorgeous nose.
Megan Fox is definitely one of the foxiest new mums we’ve seen all year – unfortunately, that isn’t stopping her from feeling self-conscious about her body. The 26-year-old new mum has said that the paparazzi won’t be catching her in a bikini any time soon, as she doesn’t want to embarrass her child when he’s older!
Megan could be sugar-coating the truth a little, as we all know that the strains of childbirth can leave marks on the body. It’s possible that Megan is just feeling a little self-conscious of her new, post-birth tummy – which is of course, completely normal! None of us are used to it when we see the new wrinkles and lines that weren’t there before!
Whether Megan decides to opt for a little nip and a tuck to get her body back in bikini shape, we’ll have to wait and see. Tummy tucks are one of the most popular procedures for new mums, and they’re just what’s needed to get your young tum looking supple and stretchy, like it once did!
Obviously, Megan is still completely gorgeous – with or without any operation – so if she wants to take her motherhood naturally, that’s OK with us!
You wouldn’t think it to look at her, but Judy Sheindlin – also knows as Judge Judy on a popular reality court show that you can catch on ITV2 in the UK – is actually 70 years old. Whatever she’s having – I want some of it!
Recent photographs taken on the beach show Judge Judy looking better than ever; we don’t know whether she’s indulged in a little cheeky cosmetic surgery in the past few years, but if she has – it’s definitely worked. Otherwise, she must be doing a lot of working out; she looks better than half the Bond babes from the 60s!
She’s also mother to five children, which means that a tummy tuck and a breast lift could well have been instrumental in getting her that stunning beach body. At 70, she looks better than I’m sure I will at 50 – so here’s to her! Good on ya, Judy, however you managed to look so good!
Dolly Parton looks fantastic for her age, doesn’t she? She’s a true star – the kind that doesn’t come along very often. There’s always been media speculation about her plastic surgery – this week, Dolly has told all about her adventures under the scalpel. And, honestly, we like her take on it.
Dolly says, of cosmetic surgery, “I think you should do it if it’s gonna make you feel better.” She was also asked how her large breast implants were doing, and replies “I don’t think they age. My girls are doing pretty good!” An open mind and a great sense of humour – that’s what we like to see in our stars!
At the end of the day,we think Dolly’s hit the nail on the head. Cosmetic surgery isn’t about making anyone else happy – it’s about making you happy. Whether you want to give your ‘girls’ a bit more oomph, or get rid of excess flab, or pick out the nose you’ve always wanted – do it! But do it for you. If plastic surgery is the way for me to look as good as Dolly Parton when I’m 66 years old, I don’t knock it – it’s just a shame nothing’s going to make me sound as good as her, too!
If you don’t recognise the name, Sarah Chalke played everybody’s favourite nurse, Elliot, in Scrubs. Despite being the show’s ‘girl next door’ character, Chalke is obviously a bit of a blonde bombshell, and rumours are that she’s perked up her looks with a little cosmetic surgery in recent months.
The 36-year-old actress has been spotted with a slimmer, more streamlined nose and a sleek and smooth-looking face – which experts are claiming to be signs of a nose job and possible Botox.
Obviously, only Sarah herself knows whether any scalpels or injections have been involved – though, whatever she’s had – we want some of it! She’s looking better than ever, and not at all like somebody approaching the big 4-0; here’s to another decade of looking like a superstar for Sarah.
